The holiday season is still a week away, but more than 3,000 Cougars have reason to celebrate early. These students are completing their studies and will mark the occasion during the University of Houston’s Fall Convocation ceremonies.
This year’s ceremonies are set for Dec. 17 and 18 in UH’s Hofheinz Pavilion. A schedule of events is as follows:
Dec. 17
- 9 a.m. – College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences
- 2 p.m. – College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics
Dec. 18
- 9 a.m. – Cullen College of Engineering
- 2 p.m. – College of Education, College of Technology, Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management
- 7 p.m. – C.T. Bauer College of Business
Approximately, 3,550 students will participate in Fall Convocation. During these ceremonies, students will be acknowledged for their achievements at UH and walk the stage of Hofheinz Pavilion. While these students are completing their academic journeys this week, UH will welcome them back for Spring University Commencement on May 14, 2016 in TDECU Stadium. During the spring ceremony, UH President Renu Khator will formally confer degrees upon graduating Coogs. The spring event also will spotlight community dignitaries and feature a keynote speaker. During last year’s Spring Commencement, Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey delivered the keynote address.
Convocation attendees are encouraged to arrive early to secure parking and walk to Hofheinz Pavilion. A parking map is available here that includes spaces for those with disabilities (Lot 15C shaded in pink).
