Project Row Houses Biannual Beatification Days

Saturday, October 12, 2024

4:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Project Row Houses is a community platform that enriches lives through art with an emphasis on cultural identity and its impact on the urban landscape. Project Row Houses occupies a significant footprint in Houston’s Historic Third Ward, one of the city’s oldest African-American neighborhoods. The site encompasses five city blocks and houses 39 structures that serve as a home base to a variety of community-enriching initiatives, art programs, and neighborhood development activities.

The event will be held from 4-7 PM on October 12th at Project Row Houses.

Volunteering duties may include assisting with the setup of tables, any tents etc. Greeting guests as they arrive, handing out any relevant materials and possible registration assistance. Guests may ask questions about the event, the artists, and the organization. Set up and monitor food and drink stations and merch tables. Help manage the flow of people through the art houses and community galleries. Assist with any logistical issues that arise during the event. Assist with the breakdown and cleanup of the event space after the showcase. Ensure that all items are properly stored or disposed of. And assist with any post-event surveys or follow-up tasks.

We will have a cap of 7-10 volunteers! So this will be a first come first serve volunteering event.

You’ll receive a confirmation and reminder email prior to the event containing more information! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Erick Martinez at mvphw@central.uh.edu.
