The intensive orchestral fellowship program on the University of Houston campus is guided by renowned guest conductors, members of Houston’s orchestras, faculty from the Moores and Shepherd Schools of Music, and other distinguished artists.

  • Director’s Fund

Give to the Director’s Fund to support our most innovative activities. From school-wide initiatives to large-scale international collaborations, the Director’s Fund is what helps make the Moores School of Music a destination for world-class music.

  • Organ Recital Hall

    Organ

The Moores School of Music Organ Program, led by Daryl Robinson, is designed to prepare students to be successful and adaptable solo and collaborative musicians. Intentionally a small and selective program, we are pleased to partner annually with local churches, including Christ Church Cathedral (Episcopal), St. Philip Presbyterian, and St. Paul’s United Methodist, for student internships. Guest artists since 2017 have included Daniel Roth, David Higgs, William Porter, and Isabelle Demers. Your generous support is vital to our continued mission to provide competitive scholarships, internationally-recognized guest artists, and outstanding facilities.

Fredell Lack teaching in the 1960s

One great teacher can make an indelible difference on a student’s life: for many, that person was Fredell Lack, who passed away on August 20, 2017 at the age of 95. An acclaimed international soloist, she taught violin at the University of Houston for more than 50 years. She was also a dedicated philanthropist, and her legacy will continue to make an impact on students for generations to come.
