Financing College

Higher education is a significant investment, and the Honors College is committed to making Honors education accessible to incoming and current students. This page provides comprehensive information about financial aid options available to incoming and current Honors students.

FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)

What is FAFSA?

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is a form required to apply for financial aid from the federal government. This may include grants, work-study programs, and student loans. Completing the FAFSA is essential, as it serves as the gateway to federal financial aid. The University of Houston, the Honors College, and other departments might also utilize information from the FAFSA to determine eligibility for financial aid programs, including need-based scholarships.

How to apply for FAFSA

  1. Create an account via studentaid.gov
  2. Gather the required documents and financial records
  3. Complete the FAFSA form by following the prompts, ensuring to list the University of Houston
  4. Monitor application status and communication from the University of Houston in case additional verification is required.

For detailed information and assistance, please visit the FAFSA Guidance Page.
