Celebrating Ten Years by Paying it Forward

Since the UH Bonner Leaders Program was founded at the Honors College at the University of Houston in 2013 by Andrew Hamilton, Ph.D., Honors students have dedicated tens of thousands of hours to the Houston community. As current students and alumni attest, the Bonner experience changes lives — both those of student participants and those of Houston community members. Student projects meet educational, hunger and other needs in the city, and they work to leverage university resources to build a better Houston for all. Students themselves gain invaluable leadership experience, skills and perspective to take with them to their future endeavors.

How to Contribute

To celebrate 10 years and counting of the UH Bonner Leaders Program, alumni, students and other community members may contribute to the Bonner Ten-Year Anniversary Scholarship. Funds raised will be used to establish a substantial scholarship for an incoming Bonner Leader student with financial need. The Bonner model is proven both to develop students into leaders and changemakers and to support students' college completion efforts. The actual size of the scholarship and number of students awarded will depend on funds raised.

Contribute to the Bonner Ten-Year Anniversary Scholarship through the Honors College giving link provided here: https://giving.uh.edu/gift/

  1. Under the Colleges and Programs tab, select "The Honors College" as the school, unit or program.
  2. Then, select "Bonner Leaders Support" as the giving designation.
  3. Finally, clarify in special instructions for your gift on the next page that funds should go to the Bonner Ten-Year Anniversary Scholarship.
