Ron E. Jackson, is presently the President/Chief Executive Officer and owner of the following companies; Meadowbrook Golf (the company has owned and managed 68 golf properties throughout the United States and Caribbean from private to semi-private clubs); International Golf Maintenance (currently maintaining 34 properties in the United States); Golf Ventures – a Turf supply company servicing 400 courses in Florida and neighboring states, in addition to Hotels and Golf Resorts in the Caribbean – the largest Caribbean Turf Company. Mr. Jackson in addition was the Tournament Director and Host for 6 years of the Father-Son Challenge on NBC at one of the courses he built, Champions Gate. Mr. Jackson has been in this position since 2001 and completed successful openings on a number of courses and clubhouses throughout the United States.
Mr. Jackson has served on the Board as one of the six trustees of Pebblebrook Hospitality Trust since the successful completion of the REIT’s IPO in 2009. Pebblebrook’s 49 owned boutique Hotels include five in Los Angeles (W. Beverly Hills, Mondrian – Sunset Strip, etc.) and five in San Francisco (Argonaut, One Hotel – Fisherman’s Wharf, etc.). In addition, Mr. Jackson is Chairman of Pebblebrook’s Compensation Committee. Prior to joining Meadowbrook Golf in January 2001, Mr. Jackson was the Chief Operating Officer of Chartwell Leisure, a New York hotel owner/operator and developer with 139 properties. Following Chartwell Leisure, Mr. Jackson was the President and Chief Operating Officer of Resort Condominiums International, or RCI, a Cendant Company with 2,600 resorts in 109 countries.
Mr. Jackson was the founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Sunbelt Hotels and Sunbelt Hotel Management Company, which was the largest franchisee of Hilton Hotels in the United States for 9 years. Mr. Jackson developed Hilton properties from the ground up, such as the Hilton Houston Hobby Airport, College Station Texas Hilton, Beaumont Texas Hilton, Wichita Falls Hilton and many more. In addition, Sunbelt Hotels managed many more brands such as Sheraton, Marriott and others.
Mr. Jackson is currently a member of the Hilton College Advisory Board of the University of Houston for the Conrad N. Hilton College of Global Hospitality Leadership. Mr. Jackson was one of the first two Board members when the original Dean of the College, Dr. Jim Taylor, organized the Board in Houston 38 years ago. Mr. Jackson has served with every Dean the Hilton College has had in place since inception. Mr. Jackson was the commencement speaker at a Hilton College graduation.
Mr. Jackson received a B.S. in Finance and Marketing from Brigham Young University and an M.B.A from the University of Utah/Stanford University.
Among other qualifications, Mr. Jackson provides executive leadership experience, including his experience as a chief executive of a large company in the golf industry, along with significant experiences as a senior executive in the lodging and resort industry. He has given many presentations in the Hospitality industries synergies and success strategies. In addition, Mr. Jackson has served on a number of Golf Industry Boards.
