Appointment No Show/Late Arrival/Late Cancellation Policy

Appointment No Shows, Late Arrivals, and Late Cancellations penalize patients who have to wait for an appointment with one of our clinics. It could even force a patient to seek care outside the Student Health Center costing them more than our services in-house.

IN-PERSON APPOINTMENTS: We request that you plan to arrive at the Student Health Center at least 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment to allow enough time to complete the check-in process.

TELEHEALTH APPOINTMENTS: We request that you check in for your telehealth appointment at least 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment to allow enough time to complete the check-in process and resolve any technical issues.

If you arrive after your scheduled appointment time, you will be asked to reschedule your appointment.

Please take into account the time to travel to our destination, which includes traffic and finding a parking space, and the check-in process so as not to risk a late arrival or no-show.

Contact our appointment desk during regular business hours or use the Healthy Coog Patient Portal 24/7 if you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment. We request that you give our office 24-hour notice in the event you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment.

  • Psychiatry Clinic Appointments: 713-743-5149
  • All Other CLINIC Appointments: 713-743-5151
  • The Healthy Coog Patient Portal is available 24/7 to all currently enrolled UH students to cancel an appointment in any clinic or schedule an appointment in Primary Care (including Men’s Health, Women’s Health, or Immunization).

NO SHOW:  A no-show fee will be posted to your university account if you fail to arrive at your scheduled appointment without appropriate notice.

You may appeal the no-show fee by submitting an ONLINE APPEAL form within 14 days of the missed appointment. Your appeal request will be reviewed, and a response will be sent to your university email address within 30 days.

The appeal process is not a guarantee of reversal of the no-show fee.
