Tom Oldham

UH Professor Thomas Oldham, Received Fulbright Grant 

Professor Thomas Oldham, the John Freeman Professor of Law at the UH Law Center, was selected as a Fulbright Senior Specialist relating to his visit to Australia in November and December 2015. Oldham’s teaching and scholarship relate to issues arising in family law.  Oldham has been the Chair of the American Association of Law School’s Family Law Section.  He was selected as a member of the Board of Editors of the American Bar Association’s Family Law Quarterly, and continues to serve in this capacity.  He is a member of the American Law Institute. Oldham also received the UH Excellence in Research and Scholarship Award in 2000. 

During his time in Australia, Oldfield spent time in Canberra, Australia meeting with government officials from the Attorney General and Child Support offices respectively. He met with faculty at the Australian National University. He met with faculty and graduate students at the Sydney Law School where he made presentations, and met with several Australian lawyers and judges. His research will result in two papers authored with colleagues from his visit. 

Oldham teaches regular courses in Agency and Unincorporated Associations, Business Associations, Family Law, Marital Property, and Mediation, among others.
