First created in 1939, our beloved festival was put to a stop at the beginning of World War Two. Thereafter, UH gained the event back on average 20,000 persons in the years 1947-1959 and deemed LIFE magazines "Greatest College Show on Earth" in 1958. Though 1959 was another year brought to a stop, eventually, talks of revival began in 1991. The following year, 1992, Frontier Fiesta was brought to life again on campus for students and alumni alike. Complete with a petting zoo and wagon rides, Frontier Fiesta brought those of all ages across the Houston area to be enjoyed. Though this beloved festival as moved locations throughout campus, it is the love and passion that students, faculty, and alumni bring together every year to ensure that each year is better than the last.
