Most
faculty
spend
a
lifetime
developing
something
innovative,
but
some
will
see
the
commercial
value
of
their
invention
disappear
in
a
matter
of
moments.
Intellectual
Property
disclosure
is
not
only
required
by
university
policy,
but
is
a
very
necessary
step
in
protecting
new
discoveries
and
ensuring
a
path
to
public
use.
The
disclosure
process
is
not
intended
to
delay
any
research
or
publication
activities,
but
is
designed
to
work
alongside
those
activities
to
protect
intellectual
property
before
any
public
disclosures
take
place
that
may
impact
IP
rights.
In
this
workshop,
we
will
review
the
IP
disclosure
process
at
UH
and
answer
any
questions
about
filling
out
an
invention
disclosure.
We
will
share
the
criteria
we
use
to
assess
those
disclosures
for
IP
protection
and
ultimately
to
lay
out
a
strategy
to
get
technology
into
the
market
and
to
benefit
the
public.
This
workshop
is
brought
to
you
by
the
UH
Office
of
Technology
Transfer
and
Innovation.
