Did you know that a good peer social group is one of the most consistently significant predictors of faculty mental health and well-being? That’s why we care about helping you make friends and connecting you with your colleagues across colleges so much! We hope you will join us for this faculty meet-up and learn about something new happening in another college. Free bagels are available first come, first serve until they’re gone. As always gourmet coffees and teas remain available to faculty all day!

Gauging your own teaching practices – How do you assess the efficacy of your teaching practices? What outcomes do you look for, trust, and value in deciding if what you are doing works well enough to do next semester? What rubrics help you develop your best teaching practices?
The Provost’s Office of Faculty Engagement and Development (UHFED) facilitates a series of sessions called “Mastering the Craft of Teaching” each Fall and Spring since 2018. Drs. Lisa Farmer (Biology) and Rebecca Forrest (Physics) host discussions featuring special guests interested in teaching challenges and innovative teaching practices. The session is very informal and is meant to be like a group of faculty trading tips and questions in a café. We hope that you will join us and take part in the discussion too.
