Description
The University of Houston - Victoria opened its first housing development in a renovated hotel in September 2010 as a part of the University downward expansion and enrollment of freshmen and sophomores. That Project, Jaugar Hall, is located on US 59 Business near the intersection of Ben Wilson Drive and is adjacent to the new UH Victoria Sophomore Housing project. Jaugar Hall will provide many support facilities for the new facility.
This sophomore housing project is an estimated 83,000 GSF, 3 story building. The base program is 216 beds with an add alternate for an additional 12 beds. Unit configuration is four private bedrooms with two private baths, small kitchen and common living area. In addition the project includes five resident assistant rooms and a manager apartment. The project also includes amenities such as a computer room, laundry room, study room and meeting/classroom. Parking will be provided for 191 cars.
