In response to the spike in domestic violence cases in the current COVID 19 crisis, The City of Houston Mayor’s Office, in partnership with Houston Area Women’s Center and other local partners have started a NOCOVID Abuse initiative to provide additional resources to women in need. Some of the resources being made available are:
- Shelter and temporary hotel lodging with adequate social distancing measures
- Safety planning and safe exit
- Domestic violence services with local partners
