Guidelines for writing your statement of personal poetics, PhD in Creative Writing in Spanish:

The statement of personal poetics should be written in Spanish and concisely (between 1000 and 1500 words, typed, double space) explain the kind of creative exploration you would like to conduct for your dissertation, the theoretical context in which it could be framed and how can it be connected to our department and/or faculty. It should also include information about your relationship to language, academic background, experience in the field, publications and any other facts that you might consider to be relevant in order to differentiate you from all other applicants.

Remember that this is a presentation for an academic position, so the tone and content must remain professional and focused, for example, avoid using sentences like: “I love Spanish because it is a very musical language” or “my grandma used to tell me stories that…”, etc.
