Adaptive Athletics: Community Healthcare Worker Model Study

Adaptive Athletics: Community Healthcare Worker Model Study

The Community Healthcare Worker Model Study at UH is a collaborative effort between researchers in adaptive athletics, sport administration, community health and other related fields with a goal to study the impact of Community Healthcare Worker Model Based Disability Sport Programming on Latinx with Mobility Impairments.

Adaptive Athletics at UH (AAUH) is a comprehensive disability sport program and research lab. We conduct innovative studies on disability sport and have produced over 50 publications and received over $1.3 million in external funds. Additionally, AAUH runs disability sport programs and hosts national and international events every semester. Finally, this program exposes students who are future healthcare workers to disability sport so they can become better advocates in their future practice.

Adaptive Athletics Lab & Program is part of University of Houston Department of Health & Human Performance
