Weather Emergencies

Sometimes the University of Houston closes due to a weather emergency, such as a hurricane. If the University closes, the Language and Culture Center closes, too.

Campus Closure

To find out if UH has closed, visit the UH main website, check emails from UH, and/or check emails and Teams messages from the LCC.

Update Contact Information

Make sure you update emergency contact information with UH by taking the steps below:

  1. Log into your CougarNet account (through Access UH) at access.uh.edu. 
  2. Click the myUH Self-Service icon.
  3. Click Personal Information.
  4. Click Campus Emergency Notification. Edit or add cell phone number and email address, if needed.
  5. Click Save and confirm changes.

Prepare for Hurricane

Visit the City of Houston Office of Emergency Management website for the Disaster Preparedness Guide. The Guide is available in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Spanish, and Vietnamese.
