One-Time Scholarships
Eugene Mendoza Reata Founder Scholarship - $2,000 (Deadline November 15, 2024)
This scholarship is given in recognition of Eugene Mendoza's service to Reata as a founding member.
The funds will be used to support scholarships for students in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. Student scholarship(s) are based on the following criteria:
- Enrolled in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. Includes students participating in the Academic Achievers Program.
- Attended high school in Houston's east end and northside communities, including: Austin High School, High School for Law and Justice, Incarnate Word, Lamar High School, Milby High School, Northside High School, Sam Houston High School, and Waltrip High School.
- Pursuing studies in the Department of Hispanic Studies, Latin American Studies, or the Center for Mexican and Latino/a Studies or engaging in the Academic Achievers Program.
- Minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
- Civically engaged as evidenced by 1-2 paragraph statement about how the student acts locally to affect positive change and plan to use the degree to make a difference in the community.
Eva and Vincent Becerra Reata Founder Scholarship - $2,000 (Deadline November 15, 2024)
The funds will be used to support scholarships for students in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. Student scholarship(s) are based on the following criteria:
- Enrolled in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. Includes students participating in the Academic Achievers Program.

The recipient(s) of the scholarship will be determined by the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences Scholarship Selection Committee. The scholarship award shall be in the amount of $2,000.
Alicia & Rudy Vara Reata Founder Scholarship - $2,000 (Deadline November 15, 2024)
The funds will be used to support scholarships for students in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. Student scholarship(s) are based on the following criteria:
