A crisis is a situation that can be simple or complex. No matter the degree, the individual lacks sufficient resources for coping; therefore, perceiving the situation as being intolerably difficult.

Crisis can be both a danger and an opportunity.  A danger occurs if the situation is not resolved in a reasonable amount of time. Opportunities arise if there are new choices. Crises can create imbalanced, disorganized chaos or serve as a catalyst for new and positive changes.

The Crisis Resource Center is dedicated to providing you with the resources necessary to have an understanding on how to deal with a crisis.
