Maturational crises are developmental crises that result from the normal flow of human growth and evolvement. The events associated with these developments cause dramatic shifts or changes and produce abnormal responses. (Gilliland and James, 1997)

Maturational crises are considered normal; however, each individual handles such crises in a different manner based on the crises itself.
