Master of Arts in Architectural Studies
The Master of Arts in Architectural Studies [MAAS] is an advanced degree focusing on deep research in the built environment. Students pursuing this degree must hold a four-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. The Master of Arts in Architectural Studies is an advanced degree; it is not a post-professional degree.
Degree Plan
Students must have a minimum of 30 credit hours of approved study, including the following:
- 9 credit hours in advanced, prescribed courses as included in the sample degree plan below
- 21 credit hours of elective study approved by the director of graduate studies. Students must obtain approval of their degree plans, including electives, before the conclusion of the first semester of enrollment.
Some prerequisites may be required.
Admission
This degree is intended for students already holding a bachelor's degree (not necessarily architecture) and seeking a non-professional advanced degree.
