What is actually changing?

Calhoun Road on the UH campus will be renamed to Martin Luther King Boulevard. Also, all the numbers will change (-500 in the number).

When does the address actually change?

• The name change of the street will take place on the Dec. 1, 2021.
• Until all stakeholders are informed of new address (Dec. 1), departments should not use new address (to avoid incurring ‘address correction’ fee)

What happens when if a package or piece of mail comes in with the old address after Dec.1?

Mail and packages with old addresses will be delivered to new address during the transition period (6 months). To avoid delays, please begin using your new address as of (but not before) Dec. 1, 2021.

How will carriers (UPS, FedEx, etc.) know of the address change?

CPD will be working with the carriers to make sure they know of the address change. They will also be notified through the National Address Database when USPS updates the database.

Will my mailcode change?

The "77204 + mailcode" is specific to each department address. It will not change during the transition, and it's presence will ensure proper and timely delivery of mail and packages.
