The University of Houston Cougar Textbook Access Program (CTAP) is an exciting program that provides undergraduate students, regardless of major or number of hours taken, access to required course materials before the first day of class for one low flat fee. The flat fee CTAP is effective starting Fall 2023.
How Does It Work?
Starting with Fall 2023, all undergraduate students who register for courses are automatically enrolled in CTAP.
This enrollment will provide students with all required materials for class for one low flat fee. The majority of materials will be in digital format; and where digital is not available, print materials will be provided. Currently, digital materials are made available as rentals for the entire semester while physical materials are purchased through the program for students to keep.
Digital materials will be available through Canvas, the University’s Learning Management System (LMS). Physical materials may be picked up at the UH Campus Store. Emails will be sent to students when materials are available. For physical materials pick-up emails, look for sender name customerservice@efollett.com.
CTAP fees are automatically charged to student fee bills. Students may opt out CTAP fees on a semester by semester basis; to opt out, access your student account and click on the “Student Financials” tab. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on “CTAP Opt Out.”
The opt out deadline for CTAP is Official Reporting Day (ORD) for the main term for each semester, which is the last day you may add a class. For Fall 2023, the opt-out deadline is September 6th.
