Scholarships are the key to recruiting the strongest candidates. We recruit promising students who exhibit a passion for practicing primary care in under-resourced communities. We build each cohort with outstanding candidates from various backgrounds to ensure the diversity of our learning community. We want these aspiring physicians to view medical education as possible and accessible.

If half of our students receive full tuition scholarships, this support will decrease our graduating student's financial hardship by up to 50%. This difference can have a profound impact on their choices.

Primary care physicians' starting salaries are low relative to other specialties. By minimizing our graduates' debt, we provide students interested in pursuing primary care an appealing path, enabling them to serve the communities they're passionate about, some of which are the communities they grew up in.

Ultimately, providing our students with ample financial support will help to close the primary care gap in Texas.

Our goal is to provide 50% of our incoming medical students with full-tuition scholarships. As we continue to welcome new classes each year, 30 to 60 additional scholarships become necessary to continue to attract aspiring candidates. We can only achieve this with help.
