Who says you can’t teach a veteran employee new methods of productivity? For both new and experienced trainers, the process of instructing staff members on strategies, tactics, policies and other workplace topics can be challenging.

To train the trainers, the University of Houston will host of a series of workshops presented by its Human Development & Consumer Sciences department (HDCS).

HDCS’ Trainer Certificate Program will be conducted by award-winning training professionals and UH faculty. The program is split into four workshop modules that will be conducted from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at UH’s Isabel C. Cameron Building. Dates and module topics are as follows:

  • Feb. 15 and 22: Foundations of Workplace Learning
  • March 7 and 14: Designing & Developing Effective Training
  • March 28 and April 4: Delivering a Positive Learning Experience
  • April 18 and 25: Evaluating Training

For every module completed, students will receive 1.2 continuing education units that can be applied to a master of science in Human Resources Development, should participants decide to enroll in UH’s program.

The registration fee for each module is $750 and $2,750 for the entire program. To register, call 713-743-1060 or visit www.uh.edu/continuingeducation.
