Adult-Clinical/Neuropsychology Faculty Position at the University of Houston

The Clinical Psychology Program of the Department of Psychology at the University of Houston (UH), a Carnegie-Designated Tier One Public Research University, seeks to hire a tenure track (open rank) faculty member whose major clinical and research interests involve adult neuropsychology. Research area of interest is open. The program is fully accredited by the American Psychological Association and has specialty tracks in clinical neuropsychology, child-family, adult behavior disorders. Commitment to excellence in research and teaching at the graduate and undergraduate level, and in supervision of graduate research and clinical practica is expected. Successful applicants at the entry level must demonstrate evidence of research productivity and potential for success in securing external funding; more senior applicants must demonstrate excellence in research and teaching, and have a record of securing external funding for their research. Candidates who can interface with the department’s graduate programs in Social/Health Psychology, Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience, or Industrial/Organizational Psychology are especially encouraged also to apply.

The University of Houston is located in the heart of the nation’s fourth largest city, and is one of the most culturally and ethnically diverse public universities in the nation, with roughly 42,000 students on the main campus. Ten minutes away is the world’s largest medical center, the Texas Medical Center (TMC). UH is a full member of the TMC linked through federal grants, research institutes, faculty appointments in medical schools, hospitals and other institutions, student practicum placements, and research. The newly opened Health and Biomedical Science Building on the UH campus will provide up-to-date research, clinical, office and teaching space for the candidate along with other neuropsychologists and other neuroscientists from around the campus.

Review of applications will begin on February 15, 2014. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Applicants should send a letter of interest, three letters of recommendation (applicants tenured at their current institution need only send a list of references), current curriculum vita, representative papers, and evidence of excellence in teaching.
