Jewish Studies

The University of Houston is the preeminent public university in this global city. As such, the University is committed to the study of world cultures, the promotion of global commerce, and the enhancement of international understanding. The proposed Jewish Studies Program will promote teaching and scholarship focused on history, culture, tradition, languages, and religion, keeping in perspective the global Jewish Diaspora and its intersections with a multitude of world cultures.
