E-MAIL TUTORIAL

You may hear more about the Web, but email is still the number-one use of the Internet. Most Internet users get their start by using Electronic Mail. After sending a few hesitant messages, followed up by a telephone call to ask if the mail arrived, most email users quickly become comfortable with the system. How it works is simple.
Email is passed from one machine to another, on the Internet, until it finally arrives at its destination. One of two programs that people new to the Internet want are email programs and Web browsers. An email address looks like this: user@somewhere.com or user@somewhere.net or user@somewhere.org, or user@somewhere.edu, or thebigguy@somewhere.gov, and so on.
