(d) Hexane & cyclohexane:nonpolar, similar molar mass, different shapes.  Hexane molecules make less contact than flat cyclohexane molecules;  they have greater dispersion forces so a higher boiling point.

• The molecules in liquid experience intermolecular forces of different strengths.

• Those in the interior are surrounded by molecules, whereas those  at the surface have molecules only below and to the sides.
