Electron-Group Arrangements and Bond Angles

• Molecular shape is defined by the positions of the nuclei of the  atoms, so it depends directly only on the bonding electron groups.

• Molecular shapes in which all the electron groups are bonding.

• The angles shown are ideal bond angles, observed when all bonds  around a central atom connect the same type of atoms.
