Advising Appointments

All Integrated Studies and Exploratory Studies academic advising appointments for currently enrolled undergraduate students are scheduled through Navigate Student.

Exploratory Studies

Exploratory Studies is committed to your success.

Your decision matters. It’s your future, so you get to decide how to get there. But it’s ok to get a little help along the way. Your Exploratory Studies team recognizes that choices and questions are many as you make these important life decisions, and the need for information and clarity is great. We’re here to help!

Exploratory Studies is a short-term preparatory major that will give you time to ponder your interests, consider your options, make confident, informed career decisions, and complete your prerequisite preparation for the major of your choice. Exploratory Studies intentionally integrates academic support with career counseling. We give you time and space within a structure of support, knowledge, and forward momentum.

Integrated Studies

Integrated Studies is committed to helping you achieve your goal of graduating with a degree from the University of Houston.

The Integrated Studies major is comprised of either two 18-hour Concentration Areas or three 12-hour Concentration Areas. The available Concentration Areas are listed below with the UH course subject codes that are approved for each. Any of the courses with the listed subject codes may be used to complete that Concentration Area, provided at least 50% (18 credit hours) across all Concentration Area courses are at the advanced level (3000 or 4000) and all prerequisite requirements are met.
