Two Publications Compare U.S. Skills to Other Countries

Two recent publications provide data comparing the United State to other countries on educational and skills competencies: 

 Time for the U.S. to Reskill? from the OECD finds that U.S. adults lag other countries on basic literacy and numeracy skills and provides useful context and policy considerations for interpreting and addressing the gaps. 

Performance of U.S. 15-Year-Old Students in an International Context from NCES presents results from the 2012 Program for International Student Assessment of 15-year-old students’ preparation for life as young adults along measures such as mathematics, science, reading, problem solving and financial literacy, with results at the national and state level.
