Dr. Jenny Bloom

Dr. Jenny Bloom is Director of the Office of Appreciative Education, Director of the Higher Education and Student Affairs Master's Degree Program at University of South Carolina, and Co-author Increasing Persistence: Research-Based Strategies for College Student Success.

The work you do to support College and Career Readiness is so important to the students and institutions you serve. In fact, this work is so important that it deserved a solid theoretical infrastructure to undergird your efforts. Appreciative Advising is a theory-to-practice framework for building relationships with students that has been demonstrated to positively impact student success. Join us for a fun, interactive workshop as we learn more about the six phases of Appreciative Advising (disarm, discover, dream, design, deliver, and don’t settle) and how to use this powerful framework to optimize your interactions with students.
