Purpose:
Sigma
Lambda Beta International Fraternity, Inc. is a Brotherhood for all undergraduate/graduate
men who seek something different. We are not typical, conventional,
nor do we settle for anything less than the best from our
members.
We strive to uphold the principles of:
Brotherhood
is the bond that binds all men of this great fraternity.
It is a bond that begins during the associate member
process and that lasts "por vida", for life.
We believe that the brotherhood extends far beyond one's
graduation from the University. Brothers remain active
with the help of our numerous alumni chapters.
|
Service
Community
service is the main activity that
SLB
is involved in. We realize that the best way that we can
help the Latino community is to serve as positive role
models for the younger generations. Too often the
children of our communities grow up without positive
influences in their lives. Our goal is to continue
giving back or our communities.
|
Scholarship
Academic
excellence is something that is strongly emphasized
in Sigma Lambda Beta Fraternity, Inc. As university
students, our main goal is to graduate and pursue careers
in our respective fields. That is our primary reason
for obtaining a higher education.
|
Our goal on the University of Houston campus is
to promote culture with programs and activities that
will educate the student body on diversity issues and
concerns of our community.
Being Latino is not a prerequisite to membership, only
having an open mind to the rich cultures which we all
share.
|
Sigma Lambda Beta & the Mu Chapter
Emphasizes a strong dedication to our 4 principles.
For the individual who chooses to uphold the high ideals of our brotherhood,
the experience is one of enlightenment and awareness that cannot be
found in any other greek organization. Sigma Lambda Beta International
Fraternity, Inc. is many things but it is not an organization that
will accept members who wish to associate for the wrong reasons.
