In 1991, we became the first Latino-based fraternity established at the University of Houston and the first Texas expansion of Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity, Inc. The Mu Chapter is committed to developing individuals to their fullest potentials in order to help serve the needs and wants of our people. As members, Brothers learn to open their eyes to see the possibilities that are open to all people, including Latinos, to share thoughts and ideas, and to recognize the potential that we as a united whole can achieve.

On this website, you should find most of what an individual needs to get a glimpse of what the Mu Chapter and Sigma Lambda Beta is about. Feel free to contact us if we can be of further assistance. Miss Purple and White Scholarship Pageant 2005
Presented by: Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity, Inc.- Mu Chapter
Location: University of Houston - Hilton Ball Room
Date: November 17th, 2005
Purpose: The purpose of the Miss Purple and White Scholarship Pageant is to allow intelligent, community conscious, and culturally aware young women the opportunity to receive one of three scholarships, ranging from $300 to $700, in hopes that scholarship recipients will give back to the Houston community.
