Agnes Arnold Classes Canceled - Feb. 15

Dear UH Community,

You already have received a message with the tragic news that a student death has occurred at UH’s Agnes Arnold Hall.

All classes and activities at Agnes Arnold are canceled today, Feb. 15. Offices in this building are closed and employees will work remotely.

Presently, the UH Police Department and other officials are investigating this incident. UHPD have advised that foul play was not involved nor is there a threat to our campus or the community.

This news is heartbreaking, and our thoughts are with the friends and family of this student, as well as the entire campus community.

All of us are hurting at this time. Losing a member of our University family is painful on many levels. I encourage everyone to seek support from classmates or colleagues. As a reminder, UH has resources available to its community, including the University’s Counseling and Psychological Services for students or wellness services offered to faculty and staff through its Employee Assistance Program.

As we address this tragedy, let’s be there for each other and keep this student and their loved ones in our thoughts.

Sincerely,

Diane Z. Chase
Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost, UH
