Author, attorney and political commentator Bakari T. Sellers will deliver the 2020 Elizabeth D. Rockwell Lecture on Ethics and Leadership at the University of Houston.

The lecture series, launched in 2004 with an endowment from the Elizabeth D. Rockwell Foundation, each year features a speaker whose life and work illustrates the core principles of ethics and leadership. This year’s lecture will be held virtually.

The lecture is set for 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10. It is sponsored by the Office of the Provost and the Hobby School of Public Affairs at UH.

Sellers is an attorney and political commentator on CNN. His memoir, “My Vanishing Country,” was released earlier this year.

The son of civil rights activist Cleveland Sellers, he grew up in South Carolina and was elected to the South Carolina House of Representatives in 2006 when he was just 22 – the youngest African American elected to office in the United States at the time.
