Housing COVID-19 Update
09/22/2021, 11:00:01 AM

Residents,

We hope you’ve settled in and are feeling at home on campus. Now that the semester is in full swing and classes have returned to full density in-person instruction, we want to remind and encourage you to continue to be vigilant with COVID-19 prevention.

COVID-19 Precautions at UH

  • Vaccination is the leading prevention strategy to protect individuals from COVID-19 disease. Current COVID-19 vaccines authorized for use in the United States are safe and effective, widely accessible, and available at no cost.  The Pfizer vaccine has now been fully approved by the FDA.   Please refer to the vaccine resource finder to confirm an appointment near you.  Consider being vaccinated if you have not already done so.

  • We encourage everyone to wear a mask, to protect themselves from being infected by others, and to prevent infecting others should they have an asymptomatic infection.

  • Free COVID-19 testing is available on campus from Curative at the walk-up kiosk located in front of the UH Student Center South. The kiosk is now open 7 days a week with extended hours from 8 am – 6 pm. The testing service is available to faculty, staff, and students by appointment only.

  • Social distancing and good handwashing practices are recommended.

Find a Vaccine

One great vaccine finder tool is now available - text your ZIP code to GETVAX (438829) in English, or VACUNA (822862) in Spanish, to get the contact information of three nearby locations with available vaccines, complete with transportation opportunities. On the University of Houston campus, vaccines are available at the Lone Star Circle of Care clinic located in the Health 2 building. Call 346-348-1200 for more information.
