Cougar Red Friday Website 

The Division of Student Affairs (DSA) has created the new Cougar Red Friday website - a Cougar's hub for everything related to the beloved tradition! The website features the tradition's history, a photo gallery, incentives to wear red, upcoming events to wear red, and more! LAUNCH Services Spring 2024 

As the Fall semester winds down, we are excited to announce the Spring 2024 services that will be provided at Learning Advancements for Undergraduate Cougars of Houston, or LAUNCH. Below are a list of services that will be provided in the upcoming Spring 2024 semester: Peer Tutoring, Peer Assisted Study Sessions, Academic Coaching, and multiple different workshops. 

Peer Tutoring 

Peer tutoring will be in person and will start at the beginning of the spring semester. The tutoring service is based on a drop-in/walk-in system. It is on a first come first served basis; there is no appointment necessary. Click here to view the Peer Tutoring website and to schedule services. 

Peer Assisted Study Sessions 

In these weekly drop in sessions, tutors will prepare practice problems and activities in advance, with the goal of building student confidence in the material and building connections among students. Peer tutoring will be available for the following classes in the spring: CHEM 1311, CHEM 1312, CHEM 2323, MATH 1324, and MATH 1342. The times and dates for these sessions will be on the LAUNCH website soon. 

Academic Coaching 

Academic Coaching will continue into the Spring 2024 semester! In these sessions, we discuss with students strategies for learning, time management, test anxiety reduction, concentration, and more. On average, students who use our services have a much higher GPA at the end of the semester as compared to the beginning. Spring Workshop Schedule 

The Spring 2024 Workshops are online to make it easier for students to attend and we have added several additional topics to address more of our students' needs.  The full schedule of the Spring Workshops will be posted on the LAUNCH website soon.
