White Cane Safety Day 2023 The 17th Annual Houston White Cane Safety Day is just around the corner! This Program & Resource Fair will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the Awareness March walking through campus. The Life Ahead! Harm Reduction Session Students have an open discussion in a judgment free zone to explore sobriety and ways to reduce substance use. Free food is provided. Cougar Cupboard Donation Drive To get into the spirit for our October 12th game against West Virginia University, the Cougar Cupboard is hosting a donation drive compeititon against West Virginia University starting Monday, October 9th and going until Friday, October 13th. You can make a physical donation at one of the donation spots or send a monetary donation through the Cupboard's GiveSmart link here. In-person donation locations: College of Edcuation Farish Hall Room 160, and Alumni Association room 201. Mental Health First Aid UH Wellness is hosting a Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training which teaches people how to identify, understand and respond to signs and symptoms of mental health or substance use challenges. Student Research Workshop In the 2023-2024 academic year, the Architecture, Design, and Art Library is launching a series of research training sessions on Tuesdays in room 169, on the library’s upper mezzanine. Students are invited to bring their lunch and laptop to learn about tools and techniques that will save them time and improve the quality of their work. Date: Every Tuesday, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., located at the Architecture, Design, and Art Library (inside the College of Architecture, and Design).
