President Khator's Student Roundtable!

We are now taking applications from Coogs who are interested in attending the next Roundtable with President Khator. At this Roundtable, President Khator would like to hear about your campus life experiences. Register here as spots are limited and the deadline to sign up is September 8th, 2023 by 1:00 p.m.

If you are selected to attend, you will receive an email confirmation or a telephone call from the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs. We ask that you complete the form and briefly share why you should be selected OR tell us about a question or topic you want to discuss with the President, using 50 words or less.

The Roundtable will be an in-person small group in an informal setting on Wednesday, September 13th, 2023 or Wednesday, October 18th, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Please choose the date that works for you and remember seating is limited.

Dear University of Houston Students,

I hope this message finds you well and filled with excitement for the opportunities that the Fall 2023 semester brings. As Interim Vice Chancellor/Vice President of the Division of Student Affairs, I am delighted to extend a warm welcome to each and every one of you.

Whether you are a returning student familiar with our campus or a new first-year student just beginning your journey here, I want you to know that your presence enriches our vibrant community. Over the past couple of weeks, as you have settled into your classes and reconnected with friends or made new ones, I trust that you are already making the most of your time here.

The start of a semester is always a special time - a time filled with anticipation, discovery, and the promise of growth. The Division of Student Affairs (DSA) along with our faculty and staff have been diligently preparing to support your educational journey, and our division is brimming with resources to help you succeed both academically and personally.

Remember, this is your time to engage, to explore, and to excel. Take advantage of all the opportunities available to you - join student organizations, attend campus events, and immerse yourself in our academic programs' richness. Your journey here is what you make of it, and I have no doubt that you will leave a lasting impact on our campus and beyond.

As the Fall 2023 semester unfolds, may you find inspiration in your studies, strength in your challenges, and joy in your experiences. Our entire community is here to support you, and I encourage you to reach out whenever you need guidance, assistance, or simply someone to talk to.

Once again, welcome back, returning students, and a heartfelt welcome to the new first-year class. I hope your semester is filled with achievement, growth, and memorable moments. Let us make Fall 2023 truly exceptional, together.

Survivor Support Group

Survivors of sexual violence, join the staff of Sexual Misconduct Support Services (SMSS) as we provide a safe, confidential, trauma-informed space to process emotions and impact related to your experiences. Open to students of all genders and all experiences along the sexual violence continuum are welcomed.

The Women and Gender Resource Center and UH Wellness have teamed up to receive feedback regarding sexual violence prevention and response at the University of Houston. Lunch will be provided. RSVP here.

Family Weekend

Hey Coogs, Family Weekend 2023 is coming up soon! At this weekend-long event you and your family can enjoy delicious food and learn about the services we provide. Additionally, there are a variety of events for the whole family, including a Friday Fish Fry, Movie Night (Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse), Saturday football game & pre-game tailgate, educational sessions and meet & greets with academic and student affairs departments, and much more!

Law, Community & Social Justice Conference
