Dear UH Community,

I am pleased to announce that I have established the Graduate College of Social Work (GCSW) Dean Search Committee and will begin the search for a new dean.

The committee is co-chaired by Cathy Horn, Dean of the College of Education and Elizabeth D. Rockwell Chair, and Sheara Jennings, Associate Professor and Humana Endowed Chair in Social Determinants of Health in GCSW. The other members include:

  • Juan Barthelemy, Assistant Professor
  • Nicole Bromfield, Associate Professor
  • Marcus Brown, Doctoral Student
  • Renia Butler, Communications Director
  • Robin Gearing, Professor and Director of MH-RITES Research Center
  • Virginia (Ginger) Lucas, Clinical Associate Professor and Director of Online and Hybrid Programs
  • Amber Mollhagen, Assistant Dean for Admissions and Student Affairs
  • Jamie Parker, Clinical Associate Professor and Director of Practicum Education
  • Suzanne Pritzker, Professor and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs
  • Quenette Walton, Assistant Professor

Parker Executive Search, a firm specializing in higher education among other industries, will support this national search. Together, they will conduct all aspects of the search, including the review of applicants, initial interviews, and campus interviews. They will submit evaluations to me. The committee will conduct interviews in a collaborative process with the college and campus community, so you will have multiple opportunities to provide input.

I thank the committee members for agreeing to assist with this important search.

Regards,
