All – I hope the first week of school was a great one! It was amazing to see so many at the welcome back breakfast and First Lecture. Check out the breakfast pictures here.*

As I shared that morning, we are in an incredible time in the College’s trajectory, grounded fundamentally on the breadth and depth of expertise represented among our faculty, staff, and students. Our collective goal to end inequities in education and health rests on the idea that these strengths, harnessed together toward a shared compass north, is the best way, maybe the only way, to have true sustained social impact.

I am excited this year to ensure that we challenge ourselves — individually and collectively — to draw a solid line between choices we are making and one or more of the strategies we have set:

  • To deliver a high-quality educational experience that empowers students to lead.
  • To serve the community as the hub for collective action.
  • To maintain a shared culture of trust that advances equity, justice, and belonging to support collective success.
  • And to pursue funding, research, and community engagement opportunities that advance our mission.

My job with the leadership team is to empower you to do the important work that can make a real difference in the lives of children and families. The opportunities we have in the College to make a difference are endless!

Best,
