Go Coogs and Go Vote!

Dear University Community, As election season unfolds, voters are urged to participate in the Democratic or Republican primaries from February 20 to March 5. However, the University of Houston will not host early voting due to low previous turnout. The nearest early voting location is Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church-Fellowship Hall.  Free parking is available at the Welcome Center Parking Garage. Registered voters are encouraged to utilize this on-campus location, with personalized sample ballots accessible for Harris County voters. If you would like to participate in early voting and are a registered voter in Harris County, the nearest polling location to campus is Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church-Fellowship Hall: 3810 Ruth Street Houston, TX 77004. The polling location will be open from February 20-March 1 from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. and February 25 from 12 p.m.-7 p.m. For more information on early voting sites, please visit Harris Votes Centers.

Date: Early voting starts Febuary 20th. Election Day is March 5, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The University will serve as a polling site in the Student Center South, Space City Room. For more information about voting in Harris County click here.

The University of Houston Alumni Association has opened their scholarship applications for Fall 2024 and Spring 2025! There are plenty of opportunities and unique scholarships for students to apply for.

The Cougar Ride After-Hours Shuttle Runs on Sundays from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. and Monday - Thursday from 6 p.m. to 3 a.m. Request a ride in the UH Go app.

SGA Elections- Vote Today!

SGA (Student Government Association) Election season is here! Voting for the 2024 Elections. Make sure your voice is heard and vote for individuals who will advocate for your needs helps create lasting change for you and future Coogs! To vote, log on to accessuh.uh.edu, select the "Get Involved" icon, and click the banner at the top. All students who vote are eligible to win a prize!

Voting opens at midnight on Monday, February 26th and runs through noon Friday, March 1st. Click here to learn more.

This beginner-friendly program is perfect for first timers looking to dip their toes into running. By the end of it, you'll be ready to sign up for your first 5k!

StepUP! Coogs Take Action - Mental Health

This evidence-based program educates students to effectively and safely intervene in instances of potential harm.

Public Art Opening Celebration!

Experience the grand opening of artist Shahzia Sikander’s “Havah...to breathe, air, life” exhibition on February 28, from 5 – 8 p.m. at Cullen Family Plaza. The multimedia exhibition by Pakistani Artist, Sikander is an exploration of justice and female representation in public monuments. This event is free and open to everyone!

Financial Empowerment Series

The Center for Student Empowerment (CSE) in collaboration with the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid, will be hosting a Financial Empowerment Series. This series aims to provide education on the best ways to utilize financial aid and answer any questions you may have regarding financial aid. This event will be beneficial in understanding how to make the most out of your financial resources.
