UH Travel Guidelines Update

University of Houston

Dear Faculty, Staff and Students,

The University of Houston has updated its COVID-19 guidelines. As of March 7, restrictions for domestic travel were removed. University-sanctioned domestic travel has resumed using the regular travel procedures and approval processes in place pre-COVID-19.

No changes are being made to the international travel guidelines at this time.  As a reminder, for university-sanctioned international travel, only travel consistent with the mission of the University will be permitted at the discretion of the applicable vice president.

UH also continues to follow CDC guidelines for all faculty, staff and students returning from international travel, whether university-sanctioned or personal:

Upon returning from international travel, students, faculty and staff should:

  • Get tested with a viral test 3-5 days after travel.
  • If your test is positive, isolate yourself to protect others from getting infected.
  • Self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms; isolate and get tested if you develop symptoms.

If you are NOT up to date with your COVID-19 vaccines, in addition to the recommendations above, you should:

  • Stay home and self-quarantine for a full 5 days after travel

To review these or any of the University’s current guidelines, please visit the University of Houston COVID-19 website.

We appreciate your continued efforts to keep our campus community healthy.

Sincerely,
