A Message From the Provost

Dear UH Community,

Time certainly flies!

I’ve used this expression in recent presentations, but it certainly applies to this edition of Cougar Milestones. This will be my last newsletter as your senior vice president of academic affairs and provost, but I know this digital publication will continue to communicate the great things happening at UH.

It has indeed been a wonderful 10 years serving this institution, and saying “goodbye” is never easy. With that in mind, this is not farewell, but rather a “See you soon!”

Although I won’t be on campus as frequently, my commitment to the University of Houston still runs deep. When called upon, I will be available to support this outstanding University and offer my services to students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Not to mention, I also will be in the stands at the Fertitta Center and TDECU Stadium to root for our Coogs!

As they say, “Once a Cougar, always a Cougar!”

That is indeed accurate as I will forever be a part of this University and it will always be a part of me.

See you soon!

Paula Myrick Short
Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost
