Artist Conversation: Tobi Kahn Monday, February 27, 2022 | 6:00 – 8:00pm
Renowned New York artist Tobi Kahn will join his daughter, writer and journalist Mattie Kahn, in conversation at the University of Houston in celebration of the display of his monumental work, OHRA (2000-03), a recent gift to Public Art UHS from members of the Blaffer Family. Comprised of seven panels, OHRA was created for a non-denominational chapel for the village of New Harmony, Indiana. Although the chapel was never realized, Kahn’s hope is that this work brings inspiration to the campus community: “Art can be in a place where students, doctors, people who need health care, can be uplifted.” Please join us for a reception and light refreshments before the program begins.
