Celebrating National Transfer Student Week
UH is proudly among the 13 colleges and universities participating in Houston Guided Pathways to Success, which helps students seamlessly transition from community colleges to universities. During National Transfer Student Week, Houston GPS celebrates those transfer students — or those who will transfer soon — who are making the grade at their respective institutions.

Students Create New Outdoor Classroom 
Architecture students put their design, planning and implementation skills to the test to build an outdoor classroom at a local middle school. This project is a result of the first year of a three-year curriculum led by Patrick Peters, professor of architecture, and Jason Logan, associate professor of architecture.

Political Poll: Mealer vs. Hidalgo; O’Rourke vs. Abbott
According to a Hobby School of Public Affairs poll, 47% of likely Harris County voters say they will support Alexandra Mealer, a political newcomer running for Harris County judge; Lina Hidalgo drew support from 45%. Meanwhile, democratic gubernatorial candidate Beto O’Rourke led Gov. Greg Abbott by eight points among the same voters polled.
