Homecoming at UH is a tradition dating back to 1946. It brightens the campus with Cougar Red and brings out spirit beyond a football game. It is a week celebrating UH, uniting students and organizations, and showcasing Cougar Pride and Cougar Spirit.
All parts of the campus come together to celebrate, including faculty and staff. Sponsored by the UH Staff Council, the University of Houston Homecoming Spirit Bell Competition is the annual competition to award the faculty and staff who show the most Cougar spirit by decorating their offices during Homecoming Week.
This year, the University of Houston's Homecoming Week is from October 20th - 26th, 2024. This year's theme is “Coog City.” Staff and faculty are encouraged to participate in the Homecoming Spirit Bell Competition to show the most Cougar Spirit by decorating their offices during Homecoming Week. Judges from the University of Houston Alumni Association will visit campus to judge entries on originality, Cougar Spirit, creativity, and overall appearance.
