F/CM Recognizes Employee Contributions with Excellence Awards

Facilities/Construction Management ‘That’s a Wrap’ department appreciation lunch includes the annual award presentations

On May 25, F/CM hosted their annual department lunch. During this time together, appreciation was given for the hard work accomplished throughout the fiscal year. Recognition was given to the team members who participated in the Leadership Education and Development Program in 2022, team members who successfully completed the CPR/First Aid course since it began in April, and the 2023 Strategic Teams were also announced.

The Building Futures, Maintaining Excellence Awards were given by Senior Associate Vice Chancellor/Associate Vice President David Oliver. There were four awards distributed in total including two for individuals and two team awards. 

The top nominated employee finalists were individually emailed to let them know they had been considered for the award. These finalist’s included Nick Lara, Michelle Le, Alvin Hall, Dormese Senegal, Connie Hammack, Ana De Los Reyes, Kerry Prejean, Jim Taylor, Allison Wright, and Jesus “Chuy” Aguirre.

The Building Futures Employee Award was given to Department Business Administrator Michelle Le for being a tremendous resource to the department’s financial operations. Her dedication is remarkable and crucial to continuity of operation.

The Maintaining Excellence Employee Award was presented to Assistant Director Ana De Los Reyes for her commitment to team success. She graciously took on the responsibility of supervising over 90 staff members until the supervisor positions were filled, while still performing outstandingly in her own duties.

The two awarded teams included members from multiple areas of the department.

The AiM Implementation Team was awarded the Building Futures Cross-Team award for their work on implementing a new work order system. This was not an easy task, but this team demonstrated dedication and teamwork to leverage emerging technology to deliver operational excellence.

The winner of the Maintaining Excellence Cross-Team award was given to the Building Automation System Strategic Team. This team successfully implemented a BMS training program for our department and did a review of the systems currently in place with plans for the future to continue to maintain excellence.

Facilities/Construction Management continues to encourage all of its employees to build futures and maintain excellence throughout the year and looks forward to continuing this annual tradition to celebrate the department’s accomplishments.
