Continuing a beloved annual tradition, the University of Houston recently opened its doors to families and supporters of its students for a weekend filled with connection and engagement. From Friday, September 27, to Sunday, September 29, this heartfelt event, organized by the UH Dean of Students Office, aimed to strengthen community ties through various activities, delicious food, musical performances, and informative educational sessions.

The excitement for Family Weekend was obvious from the moment registration began in
May, as enthusiastic families eagerly embraced the chance to learn about the lively
experiences of their UH students. This event was a wonderful opportunity for many
to meet their loved ones' friends, mentors, professors, administrators, and coaches
who play essential roles in their academic journey and support system.
The festivities kicked off on a sunny Friday morning with a warm welcome from the

during Family Movie Night in the Student Center South Theater.
Saturday morning offered a variety of activities, allowing participants to explore
Learning Abroad programs, attend meet-and-greets with academic departments, enjoy

the following: “Family Weekend is one of the most exciting events of the year, where
we get to celebrate the vibrant, diverse, and dynamic UH community with the people
who matter most to our students and their families! It’s a weekend full of opportunities
to connect, have fun, and create memories that will last a lifetime. I am proud of
our staff and faculty for setting time aside to intentionally engage with our students,
their families, and support systems during Family Weekend; they truly make the event
                           special!”
The UH Dean of Students Office expresses sincere gratitude to all departments, dedicated
staff members, and student leaders whose unwavering commitment, volunteer efforts,
and support made this weekend an unforgettable and enriching experience for everyone
involved. Family Weekend at the University of Houston stands as a testament to the
institution's dedication to fostering strong connections within its diverse and vibrant
                           community.
